The Department of Human Rights Law, which analyses the rights of all human beings, without any discrimination, simply because they are human beings, is a sub-branch of Public Law. In today's modern legal systems, all human rights are universal in their scope and are superior and prioritised over all other rights and rules of law. Therefore, it is very important that all aspects of human rights, which constitute the essence of law, are handled and learnt by lawyers.

 

In modern legal systems, where it is accepted that law exists primarily for human beings, it is within the objectives of the Department of Human Rights Law that jurists learn basic human rights and the methods of protection of these rights in national and international regulation. Within the scope of this discipline where Human Rights Law courses are given at undergraduate and graduate levels, the formation of the idea of human rights, national and international documents and institutions that have emerged in the field of human rights and developed over time, current human rights problems that are being discussed today, the concept of human rights and the characteristics of human rights are examined.
